When we wear our clothes, they bear witness to our experiences and become entangled with our individual narratives, but there is so much more to emotionally maningful garments than the obvious associations we connect them to. The below poems were 'uncovered' from garments through a method of creative deconstruction developed as part of my MA research project on evocative clothes. Rather than writing about garments, this method allows a poetic narrative to slowly emerge through interaction with the garment. This workshop method also plays an important role in my current research.
